Ken Hanley (CA DFG guide license #2596) has been  conducting fishing and
adventure specialty programs since 1970. Over 14,000 students have taken
advantage of Ken’s varied programs both in the field and on the water.
His award-winning instructional programs are well respected throughout
the adventure industry.His popular instructional DVD and video are
titled “Saltwater Salmon on the Fly” and “Coastal Fly Fishing with Ken
Hanley & Friends.” He’s the author of six books. Ken also writes and
photographs for national and regional publications in the outdoor

Ken’s extensive field experience spans the globe; from the highest peaks

Fame. For more than twenty years The Hall of Fame award has been
presented to the individual who has made outstanding contributions to
the sport of fly fishing. The criteria for this distinction include the

Fishermen The Santa Cruz Fly Fishermen began as a small group of fly
fishers, mainly steelhead fishers and one or two salt water fishers, gathering
together on the banks of the San Lorenzo River, sharing tips, tales, and other
fishing lore, and had its formal roots at Ernie's Casting Pond, a local fly shop
in Santa Cruz. The club has grown to over 150 members, and has ongoing classes
in fly tying, fly casting, and rod building. They meet on the first Thursday of
every month, at 7:00 PM, at the Soquel Grange, 2800 Porter St., Soquel, Calif.,
and feature speakers and programs from all over the state, presenting slides and
speaking on a wide range of subjects relating to fly fishing, such as
entomology, conservation, hot fishing spots, techniques, all to broaden the fly
